Welcome to our newest tour up our South East Coast from Melbourne to the Hunter Valley. Including all the must-dos, including a free day during the Melbourne Cup, and other must do attractions as we travel North we are excited to present the following itinerary to you. Enjoy.


Day 1 Monday 2nd November 2020 D

Home – Melbourne

Today is the first day of our holiday along Australia’s Beautiful South East, Sapphire Coast. We begin with flights to Melbourne. Our accommodation for the next 2 nights is at Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel (Ph: 03 9347 7922)


Day 2 Tuesday 3rd November 2020 BD

Free Day – Melbourne Cup Day

Today is a free day for you to explore Victoria’s Capital City. We have especially planned our tour so our free day falls on the Melbourne Cup day -The race that stops the nation! You can feel the city buzzing as we absorb the atmosphere of this gala occasion. Our coach will be making a transfer to Flemington for those who wish to attend or you may also like explore the many other attractions this city offers, take a tram ride, visit a museum or art gallery or maybe some retail therapy.


Day 3 Wednesday 4th November 2020 BD

Melbourne – Gippsland – Lakes Entrance

Today we begin travelling throughout the beautiful Gippsland region which stretches from the outer suburbs of Melbourne to the NSW border. After a quick stopover in Glengarry we make our way into the beautiful Lakes Entrance for our overnight stopover. Accom: Bellevue on the Lakes (Ph: 03 5155 3055)


Day 4 Thursday 5th November 2020 BD

Lakes Entrance – Eden

Travelling further up the South East Coast we cross back over the VIC/NSW border into our state’s most Southern town, Eden. With a lunchtime arrival we can enjoy our afternoon activities including a visit to the killer whale museum to visit ‘Old Tom’ and a visit the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre. The centre is a not for profit organisation which aims to provide excellence in marine research and education and the sustainable use of the oceans and coasts. After our informative afternoon we will check into our motel. Accom: Coachmans Eden (Ph: 02 6496 1900)


Day 5 Friday 6th November 2020 BD

Eden – Merimbula – Bega – Batemans Bay

Before departing Eden this morning we discover the complete Sapphire Coast Oyster story. From humble beginnings in 1927, to becoming a national name synonymos with the highest quality oysters, we a leisurely oyster farm tour at Wheelers. Meet the farmers, explore their state of the art factory and taste the prize picked Sydney rock oysters before they even hit the table. Only half an hour up the road we stop at Merimbula, affectionately known as the heart of the sapphire coast. A stone throw further North finds us amongst lush green pastures in the township of Bega, home of Bega cheese. Of course we make a visit to the Bega Cheese Heritage centre. Learn about the history of dairying and sample some of the award winning cheese and relax overlooking the Bega River. Our afternoon sees us stopping Batemans Bay Bridge Aerial view Batemans Bay Bega on the picturesque hillside village of Tilba Tilba. Explore the boutiques and little homeside stalls before continuing to Batemans Bay for our accommodation for the next 2 nights. Accom: Marriners Inn (Ph: 02 4472 6222)


Day 6 Saturday 7th November 2020 BLD

Batemans Bay and Surrounds

This morning sees us travelling out to Mogo to visit the Gold Rush Colony. Gold mining was a key factor in the establishment of  these towns. Enjoy a guided tour throughout the facility, see the rebuilt rock crusher in action and try our luck at panning. Mogo is now a town surviving purely from tourism. We can spend some time here in the village before making our way back to Batemans Bay where we will head for the Innes Boatshed for our lunch cruise aboard the Merinda along the scenic Clyde River. The Clyde is titled Australia’s 6th Most Scenic waterway. When we return enjoy this afternoon at your leisure in this beautiful coastal town.


Day 7 Sunday 8th November 2020 B

Batemans Bay – Home

Today is the last day of the tour. After our hearty breakfast this morning we make our way back up through Sydney and back to your home or designated drop-off area.
