Central Australia is the heart of our country so we have designed this 13 day luxury coach tour especially for your comfort and enjoyment to see its renowned beauty. We visit and learn about aboriginal sites, natural land formations and Australian History. This iconic adventure tour is an old favourite and we look forward to showing you our country with a professional, friendly edge.


Day 1 Monday 4th July 2022 D

Sandy Hollow – Cobar

Today starts our adventure to Outback New South Wales, The Red Centre and The Top End. After our home pickups (or other specified arrangements), we travel through Dunedoo, Dubbo, then along the Mitchell Highway to our lunch stop at Nyngan. Afternoon travel will see us arrive into the gold mining town of Cobar, on the crossroads of the Kidman Way and the Barrier Highway. Accom: Town and Country Motor Inn (Ph: 02 6836 1244)

Day 2 Tuesday 5th July 2022 BD

Cobar – Wilcannia – Broken Hill

Bidding farewell to Cobar, we continue along the Barrier Highway as we pass through the small village of Wilcannia then further up the track to Little Topar for a quick bite before we arrive into Broken Hill. We have plenty of time for a visit to the nearby ghost town of Silverton. Explore this historic town, visit the Old Gaol Museum and cheers to a drink in the Silverton Hotel (the set for many movies and commercials), then back to Broken Hill known as the “Silver City” for our overnight accommodation at the Crystal Motel (Ph: 08 8088 2344).


Day 3 Wednesday 6th July 2022 BD

Broken Hill – Port Augusta

This morning enjoy a tour around Broken Hill before proceeding Westward to the NSW- SA border town of Cockburn. Enroute to Port Augusta we pass through the railway towns of Yunta and Peterborough. Having arrived at Port Augusta visit the Wadlata Outback centre where you’ll experience the outback from yesteryear to its present day. Accom: Standpipe Golf Motor Inn (Ph: 08 8642 4033)

Day 4 Thursday 7th July 2022 BD

Port Augusta – Coober Pedy

Today we head North to Central Australia on the Stuart Highway. We enjoy a visit to the rocket range town of Woomera then proceeding via many salt lakes to Glendambo for our lunch stop. Afternoon travelling will see us into the opal mining town of Coober Pedy (where many people are still trying to find their fortune), where we’ll find tonight’s resting place. Accommodation is at the Opal Inn (Ph: 08 8672 5054)


Day 5 Friday 8th July 2022 BD 

Coober Pedy – Erldunda

Our morning’s activities will see us on a tour of this unique town. A visit into an underground building and a special tour through an old underground working opal mine, will open our eyes to the ways of living underground. After morning tea we head for “The Territory” passing on the way some of South Australia’s largest Cattle Stations. Our lunch stop is at Marla Roadhouse just before crossing the SA – NT border then onto tonight’s accommodation at the Desert Oaks Motel (Ph: 08 8956 0984) in Erldunda.

Day 6 Saturday 9th July 2022 BD

Erldunda – Ayres Rock/Uluru

Geological phenomenon’s are on today’s horizon as we head towards Yulara, the tourist town established to cater for the thousands of visitors who make the pilgrimage to the centre of the continent to Uluru (Ayers Rock). Adventure to the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and gather information about the area and learn of the rich Aboriginal history. We have the opportunity to explore the base of the rock before making our way to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) which is a further 30 minutes West. Some may even find this area more captivating than Uluru. This evening take in the magical sunset view of “the rock” and be sure to have your camera ready as the rock changes from rich reds to dark brown as the sun disappears behind us. Day 7 Sunday 10th July 2022 BD

Uluru – Alice Springs

Ever been to a Town Like Alice? Travel through our sunburnt country to Alice Springs, the main town and shopping hub in Southern Northern Territory. This unique town has a lot more to offer than most outback centres including department stores and the Todd Mall, which entices people to travel up to 800 kilometres to come in to do their shopping. Take in the views from Anzac Hill Lookout and check out the aboriginal artwork at Emily’s Gap. Our accommodation for the next two nights at the Diplomat Alice Springs Motel (Ph: 08 8952 1444)

Day 8 Monday 11th July 2022 B

Alice Springs

This morning your coach will be available to visit The School of the Air and the Royal Flying Doctor Service, two vital and very important organisations for this vast area of our country. Afterwards we allow for a free day to explore “Alice” at your leisure. Our accommodation is just adjacent to the Todd Mall and bus stops are close by. Tonight enjoy dinner at your leisure as you have the opportunity to explore the cuisine ‘Alice’ has to offer (own expense).

Day 9 Tuesday 12th July 2022 BD

Alice Springs -Tenant Creek

This part of our journey prepares us for our visit to The Top End. Keep an alert eye when nearing Wycliffe Well as there have been a spate of (claimed) UFO sightings in recent years. Reflect at The Devils Marbles where huge boulders straddle the highway. The Marbles are acclaimed to be the most famous geological sight in the territory. Karlu Karlu, as the ‘marbles’ are known to the various local aboriginals, is a significant part of aboriginal culture and the rocks themselves are said to be the eggs of the rainbow serpent which laid them during dreamtime. Day 10 Wednesday 13th July 2022 BD

Tenant Creek – Katherine

On the road again, our destination is Katherine, at the junction of the Victoria Highway, the major route to Northern Western Australia. Katherine was the site of major flooding in 1998. On our way we pass through Renner Springs, Historic Daly Waters, Mataranka and of course a visit to the Mataranka thermal springs (the original We of the Never Never’s “Elsie Station” where hot, crystal clear water bubbles out of the ground continuously. Accommodation is at The Contour Hotel- Katherine (Ph: 08 8972 1744)

Day 11 Thursday 14th July 2022 B

Katherine – Darwin

This morning explore the Nitmiluk National Park aboard the Katherine Gorge whilst enjoying a leisurely cruise to the second gorge aboard a purpose-built vessel. After sightseeing around Katherine, Darwin is our destination Accommodation for the next two nights is at the Travelodge Resort Darwin (Ph: 08 8946 0111) Tonight enjoy dinner at a restaurant of your own choosing and your leisure as you have the opportunity to explore Darwin (own expense)


Day 12 Friday 15th July 2022 BD

Darwin and Surrounds

The agenda for today includes an exciting visit to Adelaide River for a jumping crocodile cruise! These strong and powerful reptiles essentially ‘jump’ out of the water! Afterwards we can go sightseeing around Darwin city including East Point Military Reserve and the exclusive Cullen Bay Marina. This afternoon enjoy the best Darwin has to offer, you may like to relax by the pool, wonder the esplanade or the mall is just a short walk from our accommodation.

Day 13 Saturday 16th July 2022 B 

Darwin – Home

Knowing all good things must come to an end, today marks the final day of our tour,. Our coach will take you to the Darwin airport for your flight back into New South Whales where another of our vehicles will be waiting to return you to your home or other specified drop off destination.
