Day 1 Sunday 24th July 2022 D

Home – Broome

After home pickups (or other prearranged pickup) we spend this morning travelling to the Sydney airport to board our flight into Broome. Your coach will be waiting for your arrival in Broome to transfer you to our motel. Relax and soak in the atmosphere of Broome before our first dinner together as a group. Our accommodation for the next two nights will be at the Continental Hotel (Ph: 08 9192 1303)

Day 2 Monday 25th July 2022 BD

Broome and Surrounds

Enjoy a leisurely day around Broome, this will allow us for a visit to The Pearl Luggers Museum and The Japanese Cemetery to reflect upon the contribution the Japanese people made to the local pearling industry. You will also have opportunity to explore this beautiful, isolated, coastal town. This evening we head out to the beautiful Cable beach, you may wish to choose the optional sunset camel ride (own expense) or just come along to take a stroll and admire the crystal blue water of the Indian ocean.

Day 3 Tuesday 26th July 2022 BD 

Broome – Port Hedland

Port Hedland is our destination as we travel along the Western edge of the Great Sandy Desert. Along our way, overlook the Salt Piles and maybe see some of Australia’s longest iron ore trains snake along their tracks into Port Hedland. Accom: Hospitality Port Hedland (Ph: 08 9173 1044)

Day 4 Wednesday 27th July 2022 BD

Port Hedland – Tom Price

Continuing our journey, we detour from the coastal roads and into the Pilbara Region. Some might picture the Pilbara as simple sweeping plains but today be transpired as we travel through the Hammersley Range and explore the stunning Karijini National Park within. We check out some of the waterfalls and georges before we head for our overnight stop at the iron ore mining town of Tom Price – WA’s highest town above sea level and as such has been dubbed ‘WA’s top town’.   Accom: Tom Price Motel (Ph: 08 9189 1101)

Day 5 Thursday 28th July 2022 BD

Tom Price – Exmouth

Our destination today is at Exmouth, home to the Exmouth Gulf; a rare and precious estuarine system. Surrounded by mangroves, white beaches and rugged ranges and is home to hundreds of incredible species of sea life. Travelling our isolated West Coast is so different to anywhere else in our country. We will travel what looks like the same stretch of road for hours but then come across something like Exmouth; so beautiful and unique. Our accommodation for tonight is at the Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Resort (Ph: 08 9949 0000)

Day 6 Friday 29th July 2022 BD

Exmouth – Monkey Mia

Leaving Exmouth , we head to Carnarvon, the rich banana growing centre of the Gascoyne. Depending on seasonal influences, many varieties of wild flowers may decorate the landscape. Onwards to the Peron Peninsula, flanked by the waters of Shark Bay and Denham Sound to our night’s stopover at the tourist meca, Monkey Mia. Accom: Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort (Ph: 08 9948 1320)

 

Day 7 Saturday 30th July 2022 BD

Monkey Mia – Kalbarri

This morning hopefully the dolphins will arrive for their morning visit as guests from all over flock to the beach to see them. Once we are back on the road we continue onto Hamelin Pool to explore the “Stromatolites”, one of Earth’s ancient forms of rock vegetation, before journeying to the seaside town of Kalbarri. Just before our arrival we will detour into the Kalbarri National Park with the opportunity for the energetic to take the short walk and view life through “Natures Window” (pictured on front of brochure). Day 8 Sunday 31st July 2022 BD

Kalbarri – Geraldton

Travelling South today along the coastal route, we discover Northampton, one of the oldest settlements outside Perth. Further travel sees us in Geraldton where we will stop to ponder at The HMAS Sydney Memorial Lookout and reflect with “the waiting woman” as to the fate of the sailors who perished in this wartime disaster. Enjoy a drive around town and admire the architectural genius of the priest Monsignor John Hawes at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. An early motel check-in will allow free time to relax or further explore this city on the Batavia Coast. Accom: Ocean Centre Hotel (Ph: 08 9921 7777)

Day 9 Monday 1st August 2022 B

The Pinnacles – Perth

Today we take a diversion from our “earthly” tour and head for the moonscape of limestone pillars at The Pinnacles in Nambung National Park. Ponder the formation of these “termite mound” type structures standing like monuments in a desert of time. Leaving The Pinnacles, we head for Perth where our accommodation for the next two nights is in the heart of the city. Tonight you decide what’s for dinner (own expense) as you have the opportunity to select your own cuisine in the city. Accom: The Travelodge Perth (Ph: 08 9238 1888)

Day 10 Tuesday 2nd August 2022 BD

Perth

Enjoy a free day to relax and explore this magnificent city. The elegant riverside parks and gardens complement the languid beauty of the Swan River in this, Australia’s most “sunny” capital. The main street, Hay Street, with it’s Mall, provides an excellent opportunity for some retail therapy or perhaps just a quiet coffee in one of its many sidewalk cafes (own expense). Our accommodation is within easy walking distance.

Day 11 Wednesday 3rs August 2022 B

Perth – Home

We know all good things must come to an end and today marks the last day of our holiday down the West Coast. We will travel to the Perth airport for you to board your flight into Sydney where another of our coaches will be waiting to return you to your home (or specified drop off location).
