Day 6 Thursday 7th March 2019 BD
Lord Howe’s first reported sighting was in 1988 from a vessel of the first fleet, HMS Supply, as it was en-route to Botany Bay. The island since became a hub for the whaling industry and now days the abundance of palm tree based products and tourism is the primary industry. Our holiday here and other tourists play a key role in what keeps the island alive and thriving. Today we meet with another local for morning tea and they will also tell us more about the islands fascinating history.

Day 7 Friday 8th March 2019 BLD
We catch up with Ron again today as he takes us to walk the Little Island Track to view the spectacular aerial courtship displays by one of the world’s rarest birds, the providence petrel. The providence petrel returns to the island to nest and can be ‘called’ out of the air, landing at your feet and even climbing into your lap! Today being our last full day on the island we enjoy lunch at Anchorage restraint together before you have the opportunity to return to your most loved part of the island. You may choose to go to Neds beach to feed the fish that are so friendly the swim right around your ankles. There are
local stalls that have been selling fish food to tourists for many years the fish have become accustomed to us! Our dinner tonight is being served at the Coral Café.
